FAQs
Does the Google Play Gift Card expire?
In most regions, no fees and no expiry apply to standard Google Play gift cards. Some countries (e.g., Australia) may set an expiry on card value (e.g., 5 years) per local law or issuer rules. Check the issuer terms for your country.
Do I need a Google account to redeem?
Yes. You need a Google account (and a Google Payments profile) in the same country as the card. You can also give an unredeemed code as a gift by emailing or printing the code for the recipient.
How do I check my balance?
Open the Play Store app → Payments & subscriptions → Payment methods to view your Google Play balance.
Can I send my Google Play balance to someone else or cash it out?
No. Once redeemed, your Play balance is non-transferable and not cashable (unless required by law). To gift value, share the unused code instead of redeeming it yourself.

- Confirm you’re redeeming in the correct country (codes are region-locked).
